Paradox of Love
Some readers of this blog might not be aware that I also write a regular newsletter called Marty’s Magic Ruseletter.
If you love packet tricks, I strongly recommend subscribing to the Ruseletter. As well as sending out a monthly magic newsletter, I also publish several regular columns to it. One of these columns is called Packet Trick Paradise. It reflects my deep love of this sub-genre of close-up magic. These articles are aimed at intermediate to advanced magicians, although I’m sure many beginners would also enjoy them. This means that I won’t always describe every move in detail, especially if it is a common sleight.
In the latest edition of Packet Trick Paradise, I share a trick called “Paradox of Love”. ❤ This simple packet trick was inspired by a counterintuitive quote by artist and writer Elbert Hubbard, who said:
“The Love you give away is the only love you keep.”
The routine is a three-card handling of Wild Card. Three identical Jokers transform, one at a time, into the Ace of Hearts. One of these cards then changes into the Ten of Hearts before all three cards transform back into three Jokers.
The best thing about this card trick is the unique plot and presentation that illustrates the paradoxical nature of love. You can learn this trick for FREE at the Ruseletter website:
